I don't really have much of an explanation for this hands, or lack there of, but i've decided to turn them into some kind of club made of either bone or keratin
Body seems way too hard. Try to soften up some areas where transition occurs, and check human proportions. His chest seems alright for now, but his arms and torso are way too small.
This idea definitely needs more realistic reference for the parts he wants to achieve like pictures of skulls, human figure, facial muscles, hell even look at how movies portray zombies you can get some ideas from that too just show how disfigurement would appear.
