Good Sound Reducing Headphones?

Hey all,

Im sure many of you have had the same problem im having, where it be you yourself, or a coworker near by, so i thought id ask you all.

The headphones i use right now at work, is actually a 70$ gaming headset. great for that purpose, but at work, any time I put my music up anything more than minimum on the volume control, people around me can hear it, and get annoyed. It says they were suppose to be sound reducing, but apparently not?

So, im looking for some good headphones, preferably not ear buds. looking for a nice, comfy set of over the ear headphones that I can listen to music at a decent - loud volume and not disrupt my coworkers.

Any suggestions?

I agree with the Sennheiser suggestion, they're fantastic for sound quality at a (relatively) reasonable price. I have [ame="http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0012XFDWO"]these[/ame] since I needed something that doubled as a gaming headset and I got a great price on a refurbished pair. The only disadvantage is that I often can't hear people talking to me if they're more than a few feet away.

Oh, they're also incredibly comfortable.

Go with Shure, some of the best, most affordable headphones I've ever owned.

Hehe, i'm not sure why you would say $80 earbuds are affordable. I really dont ever want earbuds unless I'm working out or something.

When I worked onsite I had some $80 Panasonic(I think) NC headphones, I tend to get a bit of a headache from the "isolation" with those sort of headphones, but it was better than the alternative. To me, not being able to hear people a few feet from you is a plus, not a minus, when you're trying to concentrate. =P

I use these. You will need a headphone amp to drive them though, if you dont use the noise cancelling tech(which you dont really need as they isolate the noise well enough without). Basically no noise leakage at all(as far as I can tell) and very good audio for the price.
