Hi All!
I apparently should have posted here instead of the General Forum. Let me know what you think! No lights added yet, still a WIP.
I'm still a student at the Art Institute of LA and trying to work on my portfolio.
You're definitely heading in the right direction...I feel like you've missed some of the exaggeration of the forms that get the WOW style; specifically look at the top corners of the roof of it...your colors also are off and your front wheels should be smaller, or back larger
you have a lot of potential here to pull off a really nice piece, it's just currently lacking a lot of character. Really study your concept and push the silhouette and fix the colors and it will be amazing
If you want opinions, post wires and texture flats. Right now I can say that your proportions and colors are off. Polycount is too high for such model, unless it includes that diorama thing, which is wrong. No one cares how much polys you've spent on pedestal. Get rid of it for now, you can add it later, when done. All these fancy circles and rectangles need to go too.
It's a good idea to add some really simple lighting to your scene when you're gonna take a screenshot for a forum. This way we can see the forms and mistakes better making it easier to give critique
First thing I noticed right away was the roof being way of. It looks a bit as if you had the right proportions and the scaled it in the length. Try making a selection of the top of the roof and enable soft selection (make sure it just touches the bottom of the roof) and scale it in the length of the object until the point at the front of the roof touches the lantern holder. I think that'll make it look much more like the concept already. Then some more tweaks and you'll be getting real close.
As for the colors, they seem a bit too saturated. Also the blue you use seems to be to much to the primary color blue, try adding a bit of green to it, since it's more of a turquoise/blueish color.
Thanks for all your advice!
I know I strayed from the original concept a bit, especially with the roof tiles. Was trying to give it my own style a bit. I'm currently working on the lighting and it really does help!
Also, I took the polycount of just the main peice itself and it's actually only 2,047 polys

Good start, just needs a bit more. Keep it up!
