Here is some progress I have made on my new map in sandbox 2, hope to move it over to CE3 once its released this summer. All assets were created by me.
Looks fantastic so far, can't wait to see more meshes in it. Like maybe Tents, campfires, more logs on the ground with branches and also cabins? Keep it up.
Really nice man, I absolutely love those stones! My only gripe; one of the stones in the first picture looks a little blurry. The big one off to the left, and copied again directly behind the tree. Not a big problem though!
thanks for the comment, the blurry one is a scaling issue, scaled it little to high..ya now I see the duplicate stone, will fix that..I plan on creating more varied stones..
I'm going to updated in a couple days so stay tuned..
Models looks really good. It does seem a bit dull to me as far as lighting/color. I did a quick paintover, to what I think could make it pop. Just a thought.
I agree with Cody. The lighting seems very, very flat. There's no contrast anywhere. You really need to make those shadows pop! The rest seems pretty good. Modelling is nice. What bothers me is the cut where the trees meet the ground. add some bushes or plants around the base of those trees to make it seem a little more real. Also, trees tend to be much wider at the base. See reference:
Notice how the roots spread out? You'll need a little bit of that.
But otherwise, it's a solid start! Keep up the great work!
I think what I really liked about it which is something your scene could use are those colors break ups from the small flowers. That definitely adds to the contrast as well as the lighting. The small flowers does give life to the scene.
thank you for all the helpful comments,I like the paint over..Now that I look at my photos on a different computer, I think there is a major contrast differences from my monitor to others I need to look into that. I need to calibrate my monitor possibly again.
As for the trunks I haven't got to the process of modeling bigger trees yet, the roots i'd like to get in there. I'm not sure on performance yet, it's going to increase the tri count. I will more then likely do both.
I may post some tutorials on making the Fir trees as I had a user request that.

No plant generator was used in the creating process of the map.

The scene is coming along good though!
