Artist Trying to Program

Hey guys!

As the title states I am a artist in the industry trying to play around with some modding stuff. All I want to do right now is change the in game camera. I am following the "CameraTechnicalGuide" http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/CameraTechnicalGuide.html#Examples%20-%20_CalcCamera but I am not getting the desired results. I am just getting a free roam camera in game and I can not get my Game Type For PIE to show up in the drop box after adding it to the DefaultGame.ini. It is very possible that I am doing the simplest thing wrong.

Any hints would be great. Thanks!

which type of camera are you trying to achieve.. if u are getting a free-roam camera, are you talking about a spectator camera?

also.. which dropbox are you referring to?

I am trying to do a isometric camera. The camera that I am getting is like the spectator cameraas far as movement but it doesn't say "Spectator Camera". The drop down box that I am taking about is the Game Type For PIE in WorldProperties--->LevelInfo

when you added your gametype to defaultgame.ini did u delete the udkgame.ini file before recompiling?

I think the problem is that I was putting my .uc files in the wrong package so it wasn't getting called by the DefaultEngine.ini. I am going to try adding them to the UTGame package

yeah that would solve it too. unless you are using a custom path
