[FIGHTER] Marvel vs. DC, The Thing, spacemonkeydr

So this is my first time entering one of these competitions, but its just such a fun one I gotta get in it! I decided on making a badass version of the Thing from Marvel vs. DC. I always thought the character was cool, but he always looked kinda dorky to me, and the Fantastic Four movies definitely didn't help that...I want to combine different stylistic elements, like more from comic and 2D illustrations, and push the character's appearance, while still maintaining his basic traits. I want my version of the Thing to be comparable to the other awesome big dudes, like the Hulk, Juggernaut, and Sagat, instead of looking kinda lame in his undies. I've been working on this for the competition but just now decided to join it, so I have a lot of process images to unload on the community...I can't wait to hear any feedback and I will continue to post pics as I progress.

This is a quick basemesh, will retopologize later to get better detail out of it, but this is to start sculpting off of.

Sculpted the basic forms in zbrush, then I add some of the props/costume pieces in maya.

After some more sculpting, adding some detail to the clothing...

Messed with the proportions a little, then went it and sculpted the rock skin. No alphas used yet, but I had to do it by hand to get the look I was going for. I have to keep adding detail to the sculpt, but if I have time I will try to add a trenchcoat, hat, and cigar.

ALooking pretty good, the eye brow looks a bit weird though. Also, i don't think you have changed enough to make it a reimagination. You can change his costume to keep the work you've already done.

Thanks, I am definitely open to ideas on the costume. I'm currently thinking of stuff to add, but any thoughts are welcome!

Thanks, for the comments, I have some good ideas as to what I'm adding. It is difficult though because as a character who is basically a rock-covered Hulk, its hard to think of stuff he would actually need besides his fists, like a gun or something is just pointless ya know? But some costume changes are ahead, I just hope I got the time to finish haha.

Yeah thanks for the link, that was a pretty good model, nice textures. Thing still kinda looked like a pussy though, I think its the blue eyes haha.
