After being bitten by one of the vampiric horder, the vampire huntress's only chance of staying human and defeating the undead scourge, is the rapidly decreasing viles of vampire blood strapped to her corset and her trusty stake. It's time to take them out, or die trying!
An infected, burlesque dancing, vampire hunter, character I used as a test bed for various techniques I wanted to try out. Realtime render from the 3DS Max viewport using the 3 Point Shader and proprietary anisotropic shader for the hair, with post in Photoshop.
The polycount is totally unoptimized on this character, as it isn't intended for any specific engine or game, and so comes in around 20,000 polys which is high admittedly but could be brought down to specific requirements if needed. Im feeling pretty beat after working on this character for so long, so final optimizations for no specific polycount seemed like an easy step to miss out, and go and see what the outside world looked like again

You are right to go have a look at the outside world! Well deserved and enjoy!
The pose seems to be getting the most critical feedback and I totally agree that isn't something I am very confident with - zat's what ze animatorz are fer right?!?! Saying that I might repose it into something more subtle and releaxed and re-render - or try and get one of the animators I know to whip up something less noobish pose-wise... or if there are any animator on here that would like...? No? Didn't think so
@Gauss - Hosting seems fine to me here I'm meant ot have unlimited bandwidth as well so hopefully that was just a little blip if they weren't showing for you. Are they OK now?
@Hazardous - Will look at toning the normals down in the new renders. I agree they look a little harsh on the shadow line - would probably read better with some SSS but I'm not deep enough into the 3Point Shader to know how to whip something like that up, or if it is even possible.
I saw this earlier, and had comments, but it seems others have hit many of the points I saw...
Needs SSS, the pose/rig is a little wonky and, its just a personal preference thing, but her face/cheeks seem a little chubby for the weight on her figure. Its like she's got the face of a girl who weighs 180lbs, and the body of a 120 pounder.
I've also never been a fan of the lace-tattoos thing. In real life it might be clever or even sexy, but on a model, as a character design element, its just confusing and looks weird.
Hair and eyes look phenomenal even close up! Lots of well crafted detail and great material definitions.
Totally agree with everybody about the pose but thought I might get away with it! Decided to quickly throw a basic relaxed pose onto this one and re-rendered whilst also toning down some of the post-fx. Hopefully looks less awkward and that'll definitely teach me for trying to be an animator instead of character artist
Wont have time to work on this anymore unfortunately, but comments and crits still totally welcome
