Screen capture software

Hey so I've been looking to make some speedpainting videos for fun but I don't know what software people usually use. I want something that won't be a massive file size but will be decent quality. Also I would rather it not lag the photoshop paint brush.

Let me know what you guys recommend.

i use camtasia. it gives great results and has a super easy interface. very great program to use.

i ditched camtasia because it crashes constantly and likes to corrupt video files, as well as using strange proprietary files for saving. everyone i know hates it.

try the open source camstudio. http://camstudio.org/

Camtasia is the standard really.

Thats really odd. I have only had Camtasia crash 2 or 3 times in 4 or 5 yrs of using it and have never get corrupted files
You can save as .avi rater than .camrec too btw :P

For the tiny amount of screen capture I do, Camstudio works fine for me.
