The Rabbit Hole - WIP Stylized Environment

This is my first stylized environment, and sadly I must also admit, that it's my first interior in a over a year... But, I've got a good feeling about it, and can't wait to get this baby finished.

I've started blocking out the scene and have my first texture done.





Time for a break, some food, and then back to work.

Do you have any concept, reference or idea behind this scene? This early I see circles, boxes and triangles, and they worry me that they won't be pulled together. You said it yourself, this is your first, so you gotta be worked for a plan lest thee be doomed.

I'm trying to recreate this background from Disney's Alice in Wonderland.

For texture style I'm going to go for a watercolor-esque feel, you you just walked into the animation cel.

i think you should work the proportions of everything a bit more and maybe use some FFDs to warp all the shapes and give them a more toon-like feel
