Hi Polycount!
I know typically these sub-forums are for official Polycount driven contests, but this is merely an independent competition between two fellow artists: Myself and Jonny3D.
This thread is mainly for public progress. It would be fun to have some simple judging at the end.
Guidelines :
- OPEN SOURCE TOOLS ONLY
- 2k triangle count, and 1024x1024 diffuse / spec / alpha transparency limit
- One week deadline, which end next Tuesday (4/19) at midnight
- Fantasy Genre
- Humanoid
- 1 creature (no packs), but accessories are allowed
- Entries are only valid if concept work, WIP, and final renders are provided by the deadline
Maybe it is formal for a little friendly competition, but it's fun.

What open source tools you thinking of using? The obvious one would be blender/gimp. But maybe you are using something a little less heard of? :P
