Viewport w/ Game Controller

Topic Title is basically my question; is it possible to rig a USB gaming controller to a Max viewport? I've been using the "Walk Through" viewport control for environment stuff lately, and it's decent, but it'd be nice if I could get this mapped to a playstation controller or the like.

Is this possible? If so, is it a hassle?

You can get programs to map Keyboard keys to controllers but I haven't used one in years.

Might mean you cant have analogue control however.
