Every Sunday there's something called 'tam tams' (Huge drum circle) in a park in the center of the city. Usually around 10-20,000 people show up each week to participate, dance, smoke week/drink beer, n soak up the sun and ambience.
There's also a rave-like thing every sunday called piknik electronik:
Best thing to do in this city, is sit on a terrace, and drink a few pints.
Just for Laughs comedy festival.
Formula 1
Jazz fest is HUGE here
Film festival
Cirque du Soleil has a tent here for the entire summer.
Montreal in the summer is seriously one of the best places on the planet to be.
Where would I buy a computer in Montreal? I mean. Im one of those guys who likes to build em myself. Are there any shops where I can buy parts or will I have to order them?
Moved here in July, very hot, humid summers but zero mosquitoes, which coming from Manitoba is amazing. St.Denis is a good street for Restaurants and such. Still not too familiar with the city though.
yea ive been to piknik, its fucking awesome. wish there was something like that here in vancouver but it would just get outta hand and someone would get stabbed or something stupid. montreal knows how to handle their shit
2 places you have to go:
Shwartz for the smoked meat sandwich:
La Banquise for Poutine:
BTW if you're a foody (like me), theres 2 food network celebrity chefs that have amazing restaurants in this city:
Restaurant Garde Manger: Owner Chef Chuch Hughes (BEAT BOBBY FLAY ON IRON CHEF LAST WEEK)
His show is: Chucks day Off http://www.foodnetwork.ca/ontv/shows/Chucks-Day-Off/show.html?titleid=229156
Ridiculously good food. Possibly the best meal I've ever had.
Lobster Poutine, Jerk Lobster, and their seafood platter.
I don't live in Montreal, yet, (definitely my place to go though!) but i'm frequently visiting the city for any good excuse (hockey games, comedy shows, meet ups etc). love it, hope you enjoy it!
ALOT OF HOT GIRLS, THATS WHO! God damn i like the girls in montreal, hehe
Very strangely funny at times.
My buddy and I were walking down the street to get some burgers. Then we see this Victoria Secret model type girl.. wearing a cap. High cheekbones, perfect complexion, looked kinda like a girl hazardous might model. She had a lithe walk (like a runway model), and walked over to a trashbin, picked it up, and threw it in to the back of a garbage truck.... she then hopped on and it drove down the block.
I was stunned...... welcome to Montreal. So many hot girls, they've resorted to picking up garbage.

Yeah, its definitively on my top-three when it comes to places with hot girls I dont know, must be that silly mountain or something that makes everyone so fit ^^
BAAHHH you lucky people and your Montreal... some buddies and I are (hopefully) planning a trip up there this Summer, I haven't been there in so long, so if a polycount meetup happens in the summer, let me knoooww!
Welcome to Montreal, Crash!
Well, summer is pretty cool here.
Banquise is good but there's soooo many people 24/7! Montreal is also THE city of hockey. You'll see a lot of people and stores wearing a Canadiens logo everywhere. Otherise, if there's a Polycount meeting in Montreal, I'll come for sure!
Hahah awesome! I'm relatively new to the city as well! (Moved here in September) So I can't say I know the city well enough to know all the hot spots! Perhaps JacquesChoi or someone else can help out!
Hey Crash! Best place for computer parts is probably Microbytes (it's somewhere around the corner of University and Rene-Levesque). Had a lot of computer trouble this year, so I've been in and out of there a lot. Totally down for a Polycount meetup, and there's a ton of great places for that in the city. So we just need time and place. Suggestions?

You're gonna love the summer here.
Where are you working at?
Winters are dark, and cold.
Girls outnumber the guys here nearly 2:1.
