So I stumbled across this website yesterday and thought I'd share it with yall
I see some interesting things: weapons made by community members here [and from other modeling forums as well....] As well as stuff by games like Mass Effect, Crysis, and UT3
Nope, that's pretty much an illegal dick move. Best plan would be to contact the publisher and developer of the content and let them know someone is selling on their work.
I love that they claim copyright on the items and state that:
- The content in this package may NOT be redistributed, copied or sold in any way.
- The content of this ZIP-package remain the property of --Wartech--
- This product may NOT be sold to or shared with other persons! -
What if the guy selling the goods is the guy who made the goods? It is not unheard of for a developer to seek out alternative sources of income. That said, I would never play that game, as I understand that my pro work is owned by another party...

I'm sure the guy selling all these models worked as a freelance contractor on every top shelf FPS and somehow has a contract that allows him to sell these on the side :poly142:
I know others can locate this information I just wasn't able to see the models before his server/site went offline.
So It's this guy? verify he made them someone!

I'm fairly sure a guy selling models from a commercial game, for $7... seven dollars... Isn't the original creator. =P
I don't get the inception reply but, I'm sure you all feel cute. I've worked with people that have sold off company owned assets. I've seen people get work on the back of others, but that is not what this thread is about so, I apologize.

A person who is selling their work legally through contract after finish will charge far more then 7$ for an asset. The guns alone will be around the 30$ mark at least considering how functional they are in the animation area.
Plus, I didn't have idea that the guy who did the gun for Epics games, also did the the ones for Crysis, Half-Life 2, Clive Barkers Jericho, Mass Effect, STALKER, Counter-Strike Source, CoD, as well the work on Magna Carta, RE4, and even Rumble Roses.

Arn't you the guy that copied Zack Fowler's sword.
Oh the ironing lol
...but yeah, we've seen things like this a few times in the past, but I don't think they will get far.

Well, unless he was freelance and had it stated in the contract that he owned the models not the company normally anything you make on company time using company property belongs to the company. Just like a guy who makes shoes in a factory the shoes aren't his to take home and do with as he pleases.

No but it's happening "everywhere" anyway.
Some people are lazy scumbags.

Which game is this from? I'm assuming Battlefield BC2 but I didn't play enough of it to recognize it.
Not sure about the other stuff, but once they've put ripped off models on there, it's hard to believe any of it would be legal imho.
Nope, it's not the tank from BC2. Can be from somewhere else though
Is that still around?
