Don't worry about it. When I ordered a cpu fan a couple months ago the tracking on Newegg said it shipped from Lexington, KY to Groveport, OH, back to Lexington.
I contacted newegg... I am just asking CUSTOMERS if this has happened to them? I don't know what the big deal is don't answer it if its such a big deal...
I remembered that when i ordered something and my shipment was so messed up
and i got quite boring replies from them.
( not very true message but quite true fact)
Dear customers,
please keep in mind that the 80-90 percent of nicely written message
here is actually an automatic template that we prepared in case of
some customer like you complaining about our service.
so you would think that we care about you, which is actually not.
If there is anything else that I can help you with please dont hesitate to contact me.
It is fairly common to see strange re-routing with shipping services, especially cheap(IE: FREE) services like ups ground or usps first class/parcel post. If it says DELIVERED in California or something, contact them, until then, I wouldn't worry about it.
People get angry at a thread with a question about a hardware shipment but not about two identical threads with the same dancing transformers? Sometimes I do not understand you Polycount.

what's the big deal, it's a post about not getting hardware in general discussion. so what?
Its not like he posted a picture of his cat doing a little dance
I think if adam had n't posted , half of you wouldn't have even bothered.
I guess it's already stated, but this thread makes so much sense i'm gonna say this anyhow.
When you use a free shipment method, or the cheapest, your stuff will get on the cheapest possible plane. Talked to a guy, he orded something from Germany, it got sent to the UK, poland back to germany and then sweden. Toke like a month. But it was cheap..
Andreas I didn't read his other posts, I was just commenting on this one and it was fine, might even help some other people having similar problems.
re the ram thing, again surely thats a helpful topic as I was going to order a 'stupid' amount, until I realised that the 8gig I already have is probably sufficient.
I think etiquette wise, he might want to stop posting so much in short space of time as it does tend to invite flaming or piss taking.
It's sectioned of into priority if you want free and cheapest you get It much later, It goes alternate routes because I believe there to be a priority list, basically someone paid for next day delivery It must get there on time cause you pay extra for that service. In the future when you ask these types of questions It can quickly turn into a cat thread. Do a couple of searches if mods/admins don't cleanup those threads out of the system you'll see, search for belias. lol
Well I didn't know posting pics of just nonsense, useless things was less of a problem then someone asking a question to help them.... I just noticed the lack of maturity and respect here. Admin/Mod please remove this thread.
To the OP, it might be best asking NewEgg first, rather than asking a game art forum about the delivery of your hardware.
Common sense, really.
Questions about hardware are fine, as they're directly linked to game art. The delivery system of an online retailer (Outside of the PC merch stores I'd guess), however, isn't and don't really belong on an art forum. You'll inevitably catch shit for posting about it - especially when you have other threads that you could have asked in - That's just the way it is

What we mean by this, is please don't create mindless threads that is off-topic to the Polycount Community.
If you have a topic of reasonable discussion to post, then by all means, please post away and let the intelligent discussion begin. However, we do not want to see random posts of "I ate cookies today" or "My car is blue", etc. etc. Even within the General Discussions forum, there is no place on Polycount for such threads. They provide no topic for discussion and are generally useless and become filled with useless replies.
"More art, less words" is a good mantra to go by when considering yourself a contributing member of the Polycount community.
If you find something you find just outrageously hilarious on the web, by all means, post it in the 'Thread of Awesomeness'. Other than that, pass it around in instant messengers and emails and keep it off of the boards.
We generally hand out Warning Infractions for such threads, so please think about what it is you'd like to post, and how it will benefit a community of videogame artists.
hahahaha how to shave like a pro, and a t rex flying a jet. EPIC Thread!!
About the shipment... unless you pay some money to get it delivered right away, just forget about it. Looking at where your shipment is won't make it go any faster. sltrOlsson is right, sometimes it'll go back and forth places, or they will duplicate a scan. So no worries. But hey! at least we have a pretty funny thread out of it.
As for the whole blog BS, If you would tweet it... you should probably go tweet it.
What gets more annoying is reading a thread full of "this is not your blog". One or two posts ok, people need to learn and clarification is sometimes needed, but anything more than that is actually more obnoxious than reading a miss placed blog posting.
Also some of what people blog about "industry news, tips, WIP art" is pretty cool and generally makes for good posts, its the shit you would post on twitter "I AM POOooOOooooPIN! LOLOLOLOLOLOloiki" that will get ya a bad rep. This is kind of borderline but still probably within the margins.
On a more serious note. Yes, it's annoying with people just keeps on posting, "don't do that, it's annoying".
Aaaaaand, c'mon. First thing that happend, someone actually answered your question. What more can you ask for? And when people start posting LOLcats cause, people do that, who cares? No offence, but why cry about it.
And, if anyone wonders. You could not live without this post. Fact.
whats annoying is when people bitch and moan about people bitching and moaning about people that bitch and moan about people bitching and moaning. ...about people that bitch and moan. n stuff/
Groveport is just south of Columbus, Ohio, and it's a major shipping hub for a number of distributors in the midwest. Your ram is probably being shipped via DEX, an outsource company for a lot of tech vendors, etc. There isn't anyone at Newegg in California pulling every individual order of the shelf and packing it up for UPS - almost all that stuff is outsourced to one degree or another. Build a whole computer from Newegg and your packages will arrive from two or three different places.
Both made within minutes of eachother by R13 himself. Guess that's why they didn't turn into such "Polycount is not your Blog" "Why is this thread here" shitfests like this thread did.

Thats really necessary.... no need to start insulting and flaming over a question. Show some maturity.

What was stopping him posting this in the thread he's already made about ordering stupid amounts of RAM?
