Work in progress I'm gonna have going for my GATES TO HELL!..
I've actually got most of the previs stuff done so now it's mostly the fun part of the modeling and then texturing YAY!! ^_^
My limitations are:
-1500max pollys (quads)
-1024x1024 Diffuse
-1024x1024 Specular
-1024x1024 Opacity (probably won't need)
-1024x1024 Emissive
-1024x1024 Normal
I'm doing my own version of the well known Gates of Hell. It's inteded to be the entrance to the final boss battle in a diablo3-esq game.
Graphic tablet went out of order a little while ago so I've doing the concepting the old fasioned way. Heres the final Concept work, I'll pop in some of the lead up thumbnails etc if anyone cares enough to ask
And here Is a small technical test I did for baking and the emissives.
More soon to come, wish me luck! ^_^

That'll definatly be super helpful when it comes to the modeling/texturing stages.
Thanks ^_^
Oh yeah I probably should have pointed out that tutorial in my origional post. It was really a very handy tutorial.
Good Luck
Oh yeah I'll agree rigging is defiantly hell (for me anyway :shifty:) but i won't be "rigging" for this, just a few joints for posing, i'm not even weighting them!:)
Yeah it did, this guy is amazing
I'ts all coming together pretty well, apart from the dead line and the polly count which in both cases'll be cutting it pretty close if I even make it into the ballpark
And there is also some wired stuff going on with my bake around the outlines of the hands.
Man i'm so close to that finish line!
I've gone and changed up some features of the gate after chatting to one of my lecturers about "flow" and "arcitecture styles" and what not. I'm quite liking the changes myself too.
