Decals not visible when placed, but appear when played?

This seams to have happened over night because yesterday everything was fine.
I cant see decals in the editor when I place them. To make sure it wasn't me doing something funky I checked and the decals in the ExampleMap.udk that comes with the engine, they aren't visible either. But when I play my map or the ExampleMap in the Editor or chose play in Active viewport the decals show up just fine.

Yeah that was it thanks, I cant believe it retains that visibility info after the engine is closed. For anyone who might have a similar issue but your not sure what is hidden go to the black drop down arrow at the top left of the viewport and Show>Use Defaults.
