I'm working on making a bunch of weathered rock formation for a desert environment. Here's my first attempt. Am I getting a good rocky look, Polycount?
Ah I see. Well it looks great, can't wait to see more. Personally, I would get a few diagonal lines in there to break up the horizontal lines a little. Not too many; the horizontal lines should be prominent, but some diagonal lines could break it up a little.
Edit - I'll try and be a little clearer. I don't mean huuuuge diagonal lines, I just mean a few jagged, diagonal edges here and there, breaking into the horizontals a little more.
Can't believe how many times I'm saying diagonal/horizontal, I'm going crrrazy!
Just a tip, but a good way to get that layered look in zb is to use the trim smooth border brush and put it on spray. Then just pic a flat surface and start brushing all over while alternating your zsub and zadd.
