I decided to do Sogetsu Kazama from Samurai Showdown (obviously)
The direction I was goin for was more of Monk who can control water at will....
sort of like a Waterbender. . . . Monk! here's the mood/direction of what I was goin for...

as I said before these concepts are just what he may wear....
and I may choose to have his weapons be broadswords and ditch the whole water thing....
