So I'm in the mood for some Asian revenge films. I've seen most of the usual suspects in this genre already, Lady Vengeance, Mr Vengeance, Old Boy, I Saw the Devil, and several others. I'm looking for some suggestions that might be good. Gory, tame, slow, or fast paced, I don't care. Gimme ALL your suggestions, no need to list them by importance, but if you want to, then go ahead.
Oh, and if there's a revenge film that stands out to you, that's not Asian, then go ahead and list that too. Don't wanna lose out on a gem just cause of location

I have watched Vengeance, which I really liked. I have not seen Exiled, or Mad Detective, but have put them both on my instant queue just now.
BTW, I've seen a lot of Takshi Miikes movies, and have really liked most of them. Loved Ichi The Killer, and Gozu. The dude comes up with some really weird shit, though. And I love that too
Anyway, that's 3 movies I gotta watch now. Keep em comin!!
Also Lay lines by miike was enjoyable.
Jin Roh is a really awesome anime which kind of has revenge in it but its just an all round great film.
I don't know if you've seen Riki-oh. It's pretty funny if anything.
Ok?

Also, you've probably already seen imprint, but this has got to be one of the most fucked up movies Ive ever seen, plus its on instant view :P

Korean title: 아저씨

What is it exactly? Bad guy has done something to the protagonist, then the protag goes on an adventure to find and take revenge on the bad guy?
A Bittersweet Life has a somewhat revange-ish plot. Watch it for the awesome action though. Has some hilarious parts too.

Sonatine is another one with a revange theme - but don't expect it to be anything like the Vengance trilogy. It's Takeshi Kitano's film, so expect weirdness, slow (and I mean SLOW) pacing and rather unusual, awkward acting. I'm a huge fan of his, but I don't expect everyone to like his films.
Mother might be to your liking, but I haven't seen it yet and I don't know how developed is its revange plot.

Another two I can recommend, but have almost nothing to do with revange, are Memories of Murder and Joint Security Area. Memories of Murder is a must see. JSA is made by the same director as The Vengance Trilogy, so you should like it too.
Haikai: Looks like an awesome action flick. Gonna see it next
its not pure revenge there lots of oter stuff int here too
theres more but my brain cant think without coffee

@Jeremy-s: Still if you're going for action movies with lots of gore that are fun to watch I don't think irreversible is the right movie for that. It's more psychological. There is some gore and there is revenge, but not the same way as the other movies you've mentioned. If it sounds like it's your cup of tea however then go ahead.
The Three burials of Maquelades Estrada

Yes its not oriental but its pretty awesome.
I also found it immensely hilarious
JackWhat, Chaser and Irreversible I've seen. Chaser was pretty amazing, not so much for irreversible. IT was a good movie, and all, but the effect they were going for worked too well with me. The awful camera movements, and nausea inducing hum in the background worked together to make me sick, literally. One time watch, won't ever again JUST for that reason. Put in some better camera work, and remove the hum, and I'd watch it again. I'm looking into The Man From Nowhere, though, thanks.
Goraaz, Riki-Oh was amazingly awful in the best possible way. Now that you mention it, I might have to dig that out again. And the whole has to be Asian thing... Well, I was the one who titled his thread, "Asian Revenge Films..." so don't feel too bad about it.
BoneBrew, Machine Girl RULES!! They messed with the whole machinegun arm thing for so long, cause you knew it was coming, just not when. So many attacks on a single arm, before you got the goods. That movie was amazing. Imprint is good. The only Masters of Horror episode to get banned from Showtime. Gotta love Miike
Bal, Haikai, Thanks for those. And thanks for the trailer link. The Man From Nowhere is not on netflix instant view, so I'm gonna have to wait, or find it for cheapish. But it looks like a good one
nightFlarer, you seriously haven't heard of revenge films? Are you a movie fan at all?
teaandcigarrettes, I will check those out. I don't mind slower paced movies for the most part, as long as there's a real point to them. Thanks
rolfness, Breathless looks like it'll be right up my alley. It's not on Netflix Instantview, but I'll be finding that one as soon as I can on dvd. Also, The Three Burials looks interesting too, thanks for both suggestions.
Zephiris, I had seen that trailer, but not the movie. Then forgot what the movie was called, and have been looking for that one for a while now, so double thanks!
Fantastic, so many movies I haven't seen yet! This is great! Keep em coming if you can. I know where to ask about my next movie genre itch. Thanks so much guys, really appreciate the help

+1
I watched Raging Phoenix today...that's kind of a revenge flick. Well, for everybody but the main character it is. For her it's more about drunken capoeira.
~ BEST. KOREAN. MOVIE. EVAR.
still worth a video

But thanks for more suggestions!! I'm writing these down on a list so I don't miss anything. And I'll hunt them down as best I can.
Wow, A Bittersweet Life looks pretty amazing. That's going on the list.
Princess Aurora is prty good too !
Princess Aurora is good
Oldboy is a huge revenge movie, its awesome. this is the movie you are looking for probably.
GAh i searched through the thread for Oldboy not Old boy... ofcourse its in the OP... sry move along nothing to see here...
TheWinterLord, I don't blame you. Oldboy deserves to be mentioned on every great movie thread ever made, at least once a page. Did I mention hallway hammer fight? Well then, hallway hammer fight is bad ass!! One of the best scenes in cinematic history
But I did get to watch Mad detective, and that was pretty great. The editing at the end must have been a total nightmare.
