Normal Problem on Skeletal Mesh

Hi Polycount,

I've been having some really annoying problems with a skeletal mesh I've been importing for a game I'm making for a project. We're using the August 2010 release of UDK. I've been having some normal issues upon importing with my mesh shown below:

So the things I've done so far to fix this problem with no success:

Unlocking the normals in maya and redoing them, deleting non-deformer history.

In the fbx exporter, trying both Smooth Mesh and without Smooth Mesh in the Geometry menu.

Exporting the model into another scene file, then reimporting it back into my previous file again to see if the object was broken or something.

Trying various import settings with UDK, on/off with combine meshes and explicit normals.

Maybe something else but I can't remember all of them, some help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :).
