[STAGE] Barbarian

I loved Barbarian on the C64 as a kid! The level I'm thinking of is pretty small so I should get it done by the deadline... maybe :-)

I want to keep the layout the same as the original but have the area much more overrun with vines/plants and general dilapidation.

Barbarian! You've got to have the snakes and definitely need one of the little green goblins running across the screen collecting the heads.

Vegas: Definitely having the snake pillars.
ubu: I'm going to go for a fully stone temple overrun with vines. I may gold leaf some of the stones to match the colour scheme of the original.

I finished the snakes and felt the whole thing was getting a bit too monochromatic. Added some moss which helps.

With first pass lighting I'm not sure about the Snakes.

Hey DMoz, scene is looking awesome but I don't think that the snakes stand out enough. Could they have some kind markings on them of a different colour? Or maybe the eyes could be a gemstone of some description.

Added some more bits and bobs, I was, and am, well under the poly and texture budget, I love what Bbox85 is doing with the Samurai Showdown level (The stone ground is superb!) so I re-did the rock floor as mesh.



This will be almost final because I'm off to Malaysia for a holiday, yay! I'll have a few days back before the May deadline though; If anyone has any ideas that would make the scene better I can see if I get time.

I think a lot of the shadows are too dark. Too much black spots in your scene. maybe make the shadow a dark Blue or Brown.
