Hey,
I'm looking for clean and colourful games to use as reference for some stuff I'm working on. I've looked at Mirrors Edge, TF2, Monday Night Combat, the new Zelda. It would be really interesting to see games that barely use any dirt/ware and tear for a really pristine look. Games that abstract out these kind of details into painterly marks or whatever interest me too.
Cheers!

Neox did some stuff for it too I think, he's got a few samples on his website:

To add to my previous post, it's a texture/render style I need reference for. Stuff that is compatible with Junji Okobo designs but not necessarily as traditional.
Pretty much anything from Nintendo.
Brink is good with subtle dirt in the way Mirror's Edge does, but with more stylized characters.
Borderlands is similar, but more extreme in terms of shape, shadows and character stylization. It also uses some very strong linework, making the entire game feel like a comic book.
Prince of Persia, the 2008 game, is pretty stylized as well. Not so much in form, but in feel. The textures feel a bit like aquarel, especially the skintones.
Bionic Commando Rearmed. This promo for the also pretty colorful 2010 game Bionic commando feels a lot like the old (S)NES games both by being 2d and by using very saturated colors.
VVVVVV. Doesn't get much more abstract and colorful than this
