We are in the early stages but we have a very dedicated team. We are currently in the midst of releasing some stuff to make it easier on the developers/team working on the project. You can read about the recent
update here:

We are also currently working on ways to get the team and community more organized, as that is very key in video game development, especially when doing it online.
If you have any questions, be sure to ask.

BZ3 Genesis
Brief description/Goals:
BZ3 Genesis, AKA: Battlezone 3, is a first-person shooter/strategy game
inspired by the critically acclaimed game, Battlezone (1998 PC Version). It's a sci-fi game which takes place in various planets in outer space, with the goal of collecting this rare type of metal called "Bio-Metal".
With the game being completely abandoned by Activision, a team of longtime-hardcore Battlezone fans have formed together to bring this rare gem of a game back to life, and are doing so in impressive fashion.
BZ3 Genesis defines itself officially as an open community driven project to recreate the original Battlezone. By recreating the key gameplay mechanics (vehicle handling, RTS gameplay, etc.) on the UDK. The goal of this is to provide a powerful platform to support developers and enthusiasts to create content or Battlezone like games, and revive the series. At the same time BZ3 Genesis implements an authentic remaking of Battlezone on this platform. So it practically means bringing the classic to life on a next gen platform; the UDK.
Open development meaning we aim to be as transparent as possible, and we aim to release quick and often to the community. This does not include open source however. Though that is not excluded for the future.
The game, assets or tools it yields will be available to the community for free, and the project doesn't have any interest of making profit (beyond the required to keep us hosted etc.). The UDK does permit the project to go commercial, but this is not planned at least for now.
These are our definitive short term goals, and they are quite ambitious with today's standards that we aim for. Experience tells that progress on community driven projects is often slow. It's an effort of rare spare time invested by enthusiastic (often non-professionals) into realizing a common dream. It's easy to grow over ambitious, so we must keep focused for probably quite a good time.
But, with the dedication this project has, it is inevitable that this game will get finished, it's just a matter of "when". We are focusing on getting the multi-player released first with some plans in the future of a possible single player campaign.
