Newb game student in need of opinions...

Howdy all. I am a Game Production Student in the Seattle area and one of my classes mentioned this webiste in all of its awesome epicness. After browsing here and there during class, I found myself inspired to go above the call of school and start something new and exciting. I would like to take something from paper to digital to maya (its what ive learned thus far) and was hoping to get opinions on this. (ive never done something from scratch so this is kind of a new experience... and a scary one at that.) The idea is a Armored Core/Front Mission inspired mech.

Right now im just looking for opinions with the concept design of what I have so far. Ill post more as it gets drawn/updated. I did this about two hours ago lol.
