Strange Maya Issues

Hi guys, need your help again. :poly136:

Maya seems to have gone all wierd on me. Firstly the extrude option suddenly decided it was going to extrude each face...not connecting them when extruding.

Now, when using the extract option to split up one object into 2, it decides not to split the object up but just to harden all the edges of the part I want seperating, without actually seperationg the meshes.

Any ideas?

Well for the extrude part, make sure you've got "keep faces together" checked under edit mesh.
I'm not sure about the extract issue but you could always try to reset the settings if you haven't already.
