Alright, so aside from Nightcrawler, Gambit is my favorite Marvel character. I want to create what Gambit would look like if he became a world class poker player by card-sharking. Gambit grew up as a thief, but now his sleight-of-hand abilities are paying off much faster and more efficient than ever before. Let me know what you all think. Below is a mood board and an original shot of Gambit from Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Got any concepts drawn up? I think that would help you get a better sense of direction from people concept wise. Other than that, the character sounds good.

I'll have to see what concepts you draw up but since he's already a bit of a gambler shark right now this sounds a lot like "Gambit wearing a suit." I'm interested to see how you take this concept and push it past this.

This is a great direction you're going in Aaron. I'm excited to see some sketches from you. Make Gambit look like one slick mo-fo, lol.

Thanks for the input guys and lady yea I'm working on a gestural sketch model right now, trying to nail some proportions. I'll post some updates very soon.

Praetus- I agree with what your saying, I'm hoping to change his overall attitude and persona. I have yet to decide whether he is going to still be affiliated with the XMen or not.

You may want to check out Oswald from King of Fighters for some ideas. He's pretty much Joker meets Gambit in terms of both personality and in game attacks (he actually has a few moves that are very similar to Gambit from MvC2). Personally, I love the simplicity of his design, and was actually considering doing Oswald for the challenge until I realized I didn't really want to change anything and would more than likely just end up modeling Oswald.
