3Ds Max Resolution issue

Hey everyone,

Issue:

3Ds Max resolution is very low, I have just bought a new card (Radeon HD 6970) and installed it etc, all settings for it should be full. (Very noob at this sort of stuff)

Here is a pic:




I'm thinking this is a max issue as everything else runs fine on my computer, if so where is the settings for this in Max?

my guess would be that it is a ati issue (they are known for their drivers). So goto ati/ amd and download their newest freshest driver for your card (catalyst stuff) and install it.
If that doesn't help try disabling the Aero UI and revert to a classic theme that doesn't use HW acceleration for the windows UI.

Thanks for the reply,

I downloaded the latest drivers and also switched to the classic theme. It still does it, if I scroll over it it goes less 'blurry',

any other ideas?

I know that those particular controls are dotNet controls in max, so maybe try downloading the latest dotnet update from microsoft:

but the viewport is most likely DirectX, which would rather refer to your GPU drivers or direct X update.

If you set your video card options to force settings, instead of using application defaults, you can sometimes see problems like this.

Also, don't use DirectX10 if you selected that option.

Ok thanks a lot to both of you! I think it had something to do with morphological filtering.. I shut it off and it seemed to work fine now..
