Hey guys,
A while back, I saw a video kicking around (on here I think) of a script that would allow you to unwrap your mesh in 3D as if it were your UVs, and then wrap it back around your mesh. I believe in the video, the example was making chainmail and then wrapping it back around the character (which, incidentally, is what I'm doing). I'm not sure about which software it was for, but I think it was Max perhaps? It's kind of a weird thing to search for, so I haven't had any luck. Anywho, I'd love any help I can get from you guys.
Thanks.

This should be what you mean i think.
You might need to break the model along UV seams and create a morph target of it flattened...
The one in Textools did produce some errors for me when i tried it, dunno what went wrong
