Best Image Type for TIF? (for print)

Hi guys, I'm trying to get something color-printed as a TIF so that I can keep all the image information. In the image control box, I have several options for "Image Type": 8-bit color, 16-bit color, 16 bit SGI LogL, 32-bit SGI LogLUV. Which is the best? And there is a checkbox for store Alpha Channel. What is that?

by the way, the default is set to 8-bit color.

Use 8bit. You only need to save the Alpha (transparency) if you want to edit the TIF image later.

You should talk to your printer about this. Things like ideal image formats and color spaces depend a lot on what kind of printing it is, what printing rip they are using, or even the specific hardware they are printing with.
