This is probably the first thing I've attempted doing on here, so hi!




I've had some Potemkin stuck on my mind since I learned of the contest, so I figured why not go with him?

I should have some concepts up soon, but so far the stuff running through my head involves either turning him into a funkalicious, POTEMKIN BUSTAH GROOVIN' disco man, or a tiny girl with giant robot shotgun arms.

Here's a first pass at both concepts.

I'm attempting to take Po's normal slave collar and shotgun wristband/cuff/glove things and incorporate them into literal shirt collar/cuffs. Also afro, of course.




No idea where I'm going with these.

Oh well, been playing around with proportions a little bit with lady Potemkin.

I like the last silhouette best, I think it would juxtapose them big arms well

Your previous sketch of a little kid with a gorilla-shotgun-arm looks more promising!..I think it's not gonna be Potemkin without his big arm, you should keep that element.

Haha, I love both ideas. Maybe you should just do a coin toss? It's hard to say which has more appeal to it. I love the contrast of the tiny girl with gigantor hands, but the disco is too great to deny...

Either way, I'm looking forward to what you do!

2nd guy, the little kid gets my vote. I think it pushes the the character much further

I really liked the scrawny kid version a lot. Its really seems to fit the theme better.

I'm liking the sketches of the kid reminds me a lot of the Gorillaz characters.

I like the kid more. He has a definite feel of Potemkin whereas the disco guy while cool, does not. Potemkin skates are amusing but they're so tiny I think they could get easily lost.

OKAY, I'm almost recovered from graduating so now I should have a lot more time to poke at this.

I'm just about settled on a body. I'm seeing how this might look if I just get rid of her real arms altogether and have only the detached and floaty kind. Just need to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do with the arms now.
