Pretty cool aesthetic you have in the concepts. Right now in the sculpt he just seems very... average, with the exception of his gigantic hat. If your going to be playing with proportions, why not do the same for his body? in your third concept, he has very skinny arms, which I think contrasts the large hat well. Dhalsim is this very distinct character, so why not have the sculpt reflect that?
I like this very much tho, and I'm looking forward to see where you go with it! I'm also attempting a Dhalsim, and so far its been good fun.
Have you thought about bringing some red body paint into the mix? I know he's only got it on his head normally, but it might help identify him even more.
yeah the paint is a good idea, deffo going to work it in. Another idea is that his fiery yoga blood is visible under the skin as well, I'll make some more overpaints this week. Glowing fiery veins could be cool
I would say to give him more of the dangling metallic medallion pieces. It would be a great opportunity to have contrasting materials as well as not having everything be organic and soft.
I've had some great feedback from some colleagues as well. The turban thing is and has been bothering me for a while.
With dhalsim's head being so iconic it makes sense that not having that visible puts a dampener on things in terms of recognition. May go back to the drawing board a bit. Again.
Nice, you seem to have resolved a lot of things with this design and it looks the better for it. I like the big skulls on the necklace more than I thought I would as well. Great stuff.
Thanks for the comments, have som progress to post tomorrow. Going to tweak the proportions of the limbs and refine the silhouette before low poly. Hope to get that done tomorrow. Cheers!
I like the exaggeration of proportions - especially the ear lobes!
What's funny is that these days, that's not even that exaggerated. I swear I see some guys that look like they're wearing a carnival game on their head. Get it through the hoop for a stuffed animal! Hehe...
Anyway, awesome stuff CW. Dhalsim is one of my favorites. Though kinda feeling the chest and rib area the way you had it in your prior post. Right now his chest looks a little to exaggerated and his ribs a little too angular. Just my opinion.

Some real potential in this direction. I'll be looking forward to seeing where you take it.

Bit too buff at the moment, but I will keep him meaty for a while, see how the rest of the design goes.
I want to get the chakram motif in as well, I'll have to do a few iterations on that as well.
silhouette is not good also, so some changes will come to create more interest.
Thanks all for your feedback so far! I want to push it more.
Love where it's going though!

I am trying to avoid the temptation of doing a pneumatic or cybernetic dhalsim. Needs more thought,
Anyway, starting to finish deisigning now I think, I *MUST* make the hat work, it's getting there a bit more now.
good work, keep it up.
ok so here's a small update, hat next.
