and i would like to make the prince of ... Pirate like the universe of one piece or pirate of caraibe,
( i have hesited to make a link in alibaba )

a begin of scult just few hours

Its over 9000! After watching DBZ Abridged....Vegeta is on another level lol Its going to be hard to pull the look off...might have to go a bit more realistic than that...but I'll enjoy watchign the the progress and the direction you go! Good luck!

my biggest issue is that due to the anime style, he still looks way too somilar to the original.

i'm interested enough to follow this and see if you can take it in another direction, but that's just my worry at the moment.

maybe i don't have understand the rules , we do make it realistic or oposite style or just transpose the character in a other age ? ( like wild western or pirate or movie )

I agree with gir. I would do an entirely different interpretation.

The rules are that you have to re-envision a character from a fighting game.

the rules are that you take a character, and reinvent him in a different time/place/setting/whatever.

i'm not saying that keeping him anime is against the rules, i'm saying i don't think it's enough of a change to really stand out.

you're clearly a skilled artist, so i would hate for your work to be hidden at the bottom of a pile because it lacked a unique twist.

i thinks take a other direction, and see other work for understand the theme , and tomorow in work i ask to a friend to translate better the rules I have understand this ^^
i don't want to be losing in beginning to contest but the first motivation, it s to make a good character in other clothing and other time , it s too bad , i do seriously thinking a solid concept

Cool start! I don't think staying faithful to the style is such a bad thing as long as your theme changes him quite a bit later on, obviously it's a bit early to say at the moment.

i have re readed the rules and i am do not outside of the challenge if i make the same vegeta in differrent era, i want make in time of pirate, it s ok no ?

I think the model is a good likeness of the Vegeta character in 3d form and looks well executed, I could be wrong but if my interpretation of the rules is correct then you'd have to change something about the style or design of the actual character as well as their outfit?

Otherwise it could be an outfit for the existing character as opposed to a reimagining of the character

Thats my interpretation but if its 100% or if it's my place to say anything! I don't know ;p

like you said though, you could use this as a base and edit it from there if that's the case =]

I would push the design on his anatomy much further. I'd completely change the way you did the head. It's too similar to the art direction of the show i think. It's a re-imagining...not a re-costuming. His face still looks like a 3d version of what we'd see from the show.

I love the pirate idea though. it looks great....just not a re-imagining.

I have make the back of body in scult and corrige the neck ( i dont have change other in scult for now)
in maya i have create the low cloth for silhouette shape, and i do deep design that ut i imagine a sarwelle for pant, a boot pirate like #pirate of caraibe# dread lock for hair and bandana , maybe hat but I prefer it without,
and for belt i imagine a lot of belt meelting and pirate gun
