I feel like doing something ambitious so here goes. I can't say I've played much Guilty Gear, but after browsing through a ton of stages, this is the one that stuck with me.
I like the overall style of the scene and its somewhat whimsical nature. As the twist, I intend to build it as a series of floating islands in the sky supported by turbines, not unlike Bioshock Infinite. However, I do want to keep much of the individual details and overall composition similar to the original. Here's my current blockout and a (shoddy) sketch over top of it.
