Even if we're not participating, it'll be well worth keeping an eye on the goings on of the Dominance War. Whatever happens, there's going to be loads of awesome art cropping up in the next couple of months.

Its a shame I can't compete for PC, but I'm still doing the Brawl tourney too so nothing lost there

...but then if you win take your shirt off revealing the Polycount shirt that's been underneath all along.
Probably the best way to put it.
The voice in the trailer made me laugh though, ahahah
IMORTALITY
Inb4 GA or 3DTotal folk read this thread and begin their rage.
Looking forward to seeing the entries too

And I was talking about Polycount being up on the little logo collection on the DW site :0
(I dummmer)
oh man, this is not serious, they still has polycount in the listing .
And the Polycount contest is totally unoriginal and just a copy of the Comic Con contest?
Really?
the users said this not the creators
and like the theme, i am going with both contests
Both contests are cool and both will produce amazing art, stop whining.
The only thing I don't really like about DW briefs is that its always about creating high ranked uber characters, and now its Gods. I would have like to have seen grunts and minions included at some point.
Anyway. Good luck to them and all who go to war.
He will deleate the logo, but the people demanded the brief so he uploaded the wip Homepage. It will take some time if he had finished all and the final website will be online.
So this is only the work in process homepage as you can see at the top red bar
Going to put the greentooth logo in their cog.

can't make real gods, though :poly124:
no real gods? so the fake ones are fair game?
"white meat, dark meat, all will be carved."
Animation gets the raw end of the stick. Mandatory model requirement but no models posted yet... Also not much of an animation challenge but more of a FX artists challenge...
Oh well wasn't expecting much anyway...
Oh wells, I'd have to mutilate it to turn it into a god anyway I guess.
I've read exactly the same sort of comment on both the GA and 3DTotal forums regarding the Polycount challenge.
I've also seen that on other forums, too. "It's like Polycount saw GA's Comicon challenge and were like, ooh, lets do that with fighting games!"
This inter-forum shitslinging is retarded.
But that's because they copied our Street Fighter challenge. :P
Rest of it seems par for the course, no surprises.
Has DW ever gotten that kind of exposure? Because I see Brawl getting it, as it is a "fan art" competition, something most people love to look at.
"Remember Polycount? Who brought you the magnificent Poly-Pack for TF 2? They're at it again now by re-imagining stages and fighters from some of our most beloved fighters. Look at these:"
Anyway just wondering what thoughts others have on this.
Yes...this. The focus is game art, and it should be judged as such. Hell...ideally it should be judged inside of an RT engine so you cant add post effects and photoshop cleanup to cover your mess ups.
As far as PCs stance on this...im disappointed at the choice to withdraw. It seemed a bit unnecessary to me. I've been a long time supporter and was hoping to show my colors, but I guess i'll go with CGHub. It's like the Switzerland of forums...maybe cause they havent been around long enough to have politics of their own so i'd feel least like a traitor to support their cause.
Indeed, there really ball busting it and no broken texture sheets? What the hell?
I know there is quite an effort behind the trailer (including my girlfriend who did one of matte paintings for it:)
but the voice... lol, somehow I imagine Fred recording thos lines... and adjusting the voice afterwards just like kidnappers do when they call to ask for money :P
