Awesome detail. The feet look very small at the moment. Megaman characters always have those iconic huge lower legs/feet and I think that's the only part missing.
This looks incredible. The details are intense. How did you come up with the plating, do they follow some sort of rule, or based on some sort of concept? He does appear a little top heavy concept , especially the leg area, but it will probably work out in the 3d.
Nice work so far, looking forward to more! So is this Megaman with standard arm cannon? Could be cool if you could incorporate some cannon options...quick boomerang...crash bombs...stuff:)
nice work though, i am liking the design a lot. only thing i think you could benefit from is keeping him young and maintaining the proportion of a young boy while adding this mech stuff.
some excelent hard surface work there, really looking forward to seeing this done and how you construct the low poly.....good hardsurface low poly is the bane of my existance at the moment.
Choi really is asian omg didn't think you could pull of hardsurface like that but your asianess has prevailed! Teasin look like a thrust worthy crotch man keep it up.
g2000: Ha ha, I don't know if I'd call myself 'fast'.
Mind Traveler: Sup Anwar! You joining in the fun?
Ryan: Ha ha, yeah kimchi to me is like Spinach to popeye. Where's your stage at?
Seth: I have no idea, but I just shipped a game where the main character had 6000 traingles had a bulletbelt, and a face that could support full facial animation with a full set of teeth. I'm guessing it's do-able with 12k.
Don: Thanks braw!
MM: hah, I know, I have absolutely no HSM in my folio, yet I spent half a year doing it at work. I was going to go with a bit more generic proportions (only because CG-Sammu kept his Zero proportions intact, and I want mine to look about 10x bigger).
d1ver: ha ha, yeah, megacrotch has an exhaust pipe.
MaskSalesman: dude it also makes julian fries.
Hellstern: Thx miss Hellstern! your entry is shaping up to be pretty stunning!
DavidRichardson: Thanks man. Slipgate did mention to me over IM that there's a bit of a danger in microdetailing to this level (wont bake out nicely in the normal map). I'll likely go back, and remove 30% of the rivets, and make the smaller ones bigger.
Maph: Thanks man!
wester: heh, I think you're a bit farther along than I am.
Onomatopea: I have absolutely no idea. Im hoping the rest holds up.
Enodmi: hmmm cool idea, but I always think he looks strange when he goes to gutsman/cutsman. Already looks pretty far removed from Megaman, where Im a bit worried it might get confusing if I incorperate the other elements. Metal Man, and Electman are by far my 2 favorite weapons though.
Womball: HA HA BIG EVERYWHERE!!! Ya!! I think the plating design is very very inspired by a bunch of my favorite character designs (Starcraft Marine, Slipgates N0x, WoW Warlock Arena Set 8, Dean Holdeen's concepts etc). General rule of thumb I've noticed is, most of the lines follow anatomy lines in a strange way, then push various elements to fit in with functionality.
dur23: DURRRRRRRR!!!!
Gannon: Yeah, I hadn't gotten to the top of the forearm yet. That plug looking thingy is just the base I'll be adding the plating on to.
WOW, I have no freaking idea how you begin with anything this complex. I love it and I am sure this Mega Man is going to be one to remember. Awesome work.
Definitely very clean modeling and great progress so far. I'm pretty excited to see you tackle a hard surface character so well
Do you have plans to bang up the geo in zbrush later on or do you think you'll use something like nDo or 3dcoat?
Looks fantastic. I gotta ask though, how do you go about making the low-poly mesh for something like this. It's really complex. I've always had trouble with base meshes

I feel like the gun lost a little volume towards the back .
Sorry - no crit so far.:)

Megaman is a good choice.
OC: definitely nDo.
