I've got my moodboard together. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to do some scribbling. I'm thinking that I'm going to try to keep vaguely similar armor placement as the original design. However, I want to make sure that I take the design far enough that it isn't just a outfit swap.

I'm not sure what direction I want to go for facial hair. There are very few vikings without beards, but I don't want to totally obscure the face. Any opinions?

I did some scribbling last night and blocked out some of the shapes I want. I need to push the design more and get more viking in there.

I'm thinking I'll probably give him a shield on his back and perhaps a helmet.

I've finally had a bit of time to throw at this... I did some work on some head variations. I'm leaning slightly toward #2, but I'm still not sure. C&C very welcome!

I made some progress on my concept. I happy with most of it so far... the shoulder armor still needs some work but it's too late for my brain to keep working, so I'll tackle that tomorrow. I haven't made up my mind about the shield either. I'm feeling like it weighs him down too much.

I think the shield size is pretty accurate, it fits the massive weapons he has attached to him. It'd look kinda silly to have a dainty little shield.

I did some work blocking out the anatomy and worked on the head. The hair is a placeholder at this point.

I've pretty much wrapped up the anatomy sculpt. I still have to do the outfit and weapons... at this point I very much doubt I'll be able to finish in time, but I'll do my best.
