Hey guys,
I'm having a bit of a hard time trying to bring a mesh from 3dmax into UDK with two material slots.
I know it can be done becuase I've done it before.. mind you that was with an older build of UDK.
As far as I know.. I'm supposed to create a multi/sub object material in max, appropriately apply the sub-materials to their corresponding faces on the model and export to UDK.
When I get the mesh imported, there is only one material slot.. =\

you are the man with the plan. Applying actual textures to the sub material fixed my problem.
