Character Artist

As Splash Damage's Character Artist, you will work closely with the Character Art Lead and be responsible for creating, establishing and maintaining high quality characters for our games. This role will require the artist to be confident painting textures and also sculpting high poly meshes.

* Create and maintain 3D character art and props
* Maintain a consistent quality for a range of assets
* Be self motivated and demonstrate initiative

Essential Skills and Experience

* Demonstrable examples of current and past work that are indicative of the quality the artist can achieve
* Understanding of what is required to create clean, deformable, efficient models and textures
* Highly experienced and proficient with Maya or 3D Studio Max, Zbrush and Photoshop
* Strong knowledge and understanding of anatomy, form, shape and structure
* Good written and verbal English skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

* 3 years+ experience in developing realtime character models and textures
* A minimum of 1 shipped title where credited as Character Artist
* Strong knowledge of real-time shaders
* Concept design/illustration including lighting or color keys

Tech ART


As Splash Damage's Technical Artist, you will work closely with engineering, art and design and will be responsible for assisting with the creation of art production pipelines. Specifically, this role will be focused on character, weapon and vehicle related asset creation.

* Work collaboratively to resolve technical challenges
* Prototype, design, create and maintain art pipelines
* Maintain documentation and assist with outsourcing
* Assist with blocking out assets and rig setups

Essential Skills and Experience

* In-depth knowledge of Maya and/or 3D Studio Max and real-time pipelines
* Demonstrable scripting ability in MEL, Python and/or Maxscript
* Demonstrable experience of modeling and shader creation
* Ability to communicate complex ideas across disciplines effectively
* Strong problem-solving abilities
* Rigging experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

* 3+ years game development experience in art related roles
* Experience in aspects of animation
* Knowledge of particle FX tools and post-processing
