Zombie Ants and Mind-Control Fungi

Just found this on National Geographic, published this march, some pretty cool stuff about mind controlling fungi. There's a couple of pictures and information about the different fungi and insects that can become zombies.

As excited as I am that they used the word zombie, i have to say this is totally the most unexciting way to welcome the zombie apocalypse! haha

If you think thats cool. This will blow your mind. Paracites like these just baffle me. How does something like this evolve. Weird, awesome, gross and baffling all at the same time.

Ah nice I was reading something earlier that was just the same as that except with ants (again), http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/01/080117-ant-berries_2.html

But yeah parasites going from bird crap to ants, make the ant more likely to be eaten, into bird, then back out to bird crap.
