The Facepalm Gaming Marathon for Charity

Some of you might not know, but I run a little indie studio called Pixelante; we were even in the PAX10 (prime) last year with Fowl Space.

Well now I'm organizing a new charity fundraiser for Child's Play and the Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Fund, called the Facepalm Gaming Marathon.

We're going to be streaming ourselves online 24/7 while we tear our hair out over brutally difficult platformers. The more money people donate, the longer the marathon goes (and the longer we suffer for everyone's enjoyment!)

We're starting on April 10th at Noon (PST) and we'll be streaming at:

We've got a lot of different options for donation, most of which you involve getting a free game out of it, so give us a look. Being a charity, we need all the help we can get to spread the word around!

You are missing Ghosts 'n Goblins for the NES on your list. There is barely anything more difficult than that one on that platform, and you have to beat it twice.

Two Listen

Here's one I'm not sure why more people don't have on their list...

Blasto, for the Playstation. Though, I don't imagine you'd beat it in any sort of reasonable timeframe unless you've played through it two or three times before. Which might not make it great for this event - but it's definitely...difficult, and just plain ridiculous.

Anyway, this sounds like a great marathon for charity and I'll surely be keeping an eye on you guys. Cheers for the notice!

Another great one that could be on the list is Battletoads for the NES (think the same game is on the Genesis too.)

Never could get passed that hoverbike area more than once.

I think we'll pass on battletoads. We do want the games to be possible
(I'm sure someone can do it but probably not us)

We are definitely trying to get Contra but we're still looking for a copy. I was pretty shocked to find it wasn't on the Wii virtual console.

It got delayed due to illness, but now Facepalm is back on track for April 10th. We're supporting the Japan Relief Fund now, and have a bunch of new donation options.
