Located in Bellevue, Washington, ArenaNet is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea-based NCsoft Corporation. The studio was formed in the spring of 2000 with the goal of creating a state-of-the-art interactive game network, and of developing premier multiplayer, online games. Having built such a network, ArenaNet continues to improve upon it, keeping stride with current technology and offering new and innovative approaches, such as a subscription-free business model, instanced missions, and streaming updates, which eliminate the need for patching.

As a character artist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of highly trained artists to create 3D characters, monsters, heroes, and other assorted creatures. You and your fellow team-mates will develop characters from start to finish, including conception, modeling, and texturing models to create some of the most compelling graphics ever seen in a game.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Use commercial and proprietary software to create high quality character art assets to fulfill the requirements of the project's functional, artistic, and technical specifications
Follow the schedules set by the art director
Understand the requirements and constraints of game design, engine, and platform
Take direction in style and technique
Proactively seek feedback from the art director in matters of style and mood
Character rigging
Qualifications:
Proven ability to create art assets
Willing and able to work closely with game designer and programmers
Ability to take direction
Willingness to learn commercial and proprietary software
Game experience preferred
