Wow... i am not a hardcore mmo player, heck, i don't even play mmo's. But that has to be tough! I read the whole article and i still fail to grasp why they want to do this.

Which are? I understand that people might waste their time, but at the same time it's kinda crazy that the government sets something like this. Sounds to me like Egypt's case, when they shut off entirely any internet connection. I wonder if an uprising will come out of it... or people will see some daylight and do some exercise instead.
Curbing is largely a very addictive, socially negative thing (playing online games 24/7 not games in general), is something I'm very much behind.
Increasing the amount people socialise in real life, and allowing to spend their money on their OWN economy instead of focusing it all on international online games seems like a good move to me.
I am too in the favor of their action upon the teenage-adult gamers but still though. I personally do not have time to play too much game in one day because I have soo much other stuff to do like school work, job, personal studies and practices. After every day if I get a chance to play one Starcraft game or one League of Legend's game I be glad.
This though was a bit too much, its like government does not have better things to do then poking in my private life. Its was a good decision and I do understand that it was made after no one sobered up from gaming or at least considered scheduling his day.
This might change the entire teenage gen of Vietnam, they will either use proxy, or play Dota via LAN in the basement, or they would fight against it.
heh. and we here in the west complain about nanny states...
it's probably not a bad thing if people take a break from excessive gaming, but it shouldn't be the government's business how people spend their free time
weird. if they want to stop people from playing 24/7, why dont they just ban games during usual working hours. that way, the crazy hardcore people theyre trying to "fix" wont be able to play for the same "x" amount of hours a day, but the regular folks who work during the day can play in the evening.
Prbly said that cuz they will move somewhere else where they can play their games... haha
I still don't agree with the government being more of a dictator saying what you can and can't do with your personal time. But hey.. maybe something good will come out of it... instead of seeing daylight, they might learn more astronomy and launch vietnam into a space revolution where gamers take league into the conquering of outer space... or something like that.

And? Clearly there is only one con I see of this action. Some people work nights on their project. Or is it just online games they will block.
