What the fuck are you even talking about? Are you drunk?

The Polycount Forum is not your "blog".

What we mean by this, is please don't create mindless threads that is off-topic to the Polycount Community.

If you have a topic of reasonable discussion to post, then by all means, please post away and let the intelligent discussion begin. However, we do not want to see random posts of "I ate cookies today" or "My car is blue", etc. etc. Even within the General Discussions forum, there is no place on Polycount for such threads. They provide no topic for discussion and are generally useless and become filled with useless replies.

"More art, less words" is a good mantra to go by when considering yourself a contributing member of the Polycount community.

If you find something you find just outrageously hilarious on the web, by all means, post it in the 'Thread of Awesomeness'. Other than that, pass it around in instant messengers and emails and keep it off of the boards.

We generally hand out Warning Infractions for such threads, so please think about what it is you'd like to post, and how it will benefit a community of videogame artists.

Edit: Oh look, this isn't the first time you've made a nonsensical, bullshit thread for no reason. Cool!:thumbup:

While I have no clue wtf the OP was talking about in his initial post... he has been a member since 2005, which makes him somewhat of a PC Vet.

Looking back at some of his older posts, the dudes got some skillz too so there must be more to this thread than a lot (all) of us have realised.

AlphaWolf is old school PC before the relaunch of the forums. I don't get the thread but I respect the man. I still have your Judge Dredd model and was one of the models I studied and broke down in art school years ago.

As Stinger said, there's been somewhat of a mass of pointless/trollworthy threads started in GD by brand new members recently, probably due to the influx of 'Hi guyz I'm new, I saw the TF2 thing, how do I make dem modelz' members.

Maybe some of the PC OG's feel they need to behave in such a way so they fit in with the new skool.

I had no clue this thread would cause so much hostility towards me, I was really just stopping by to say Hi and see who is still around. And yes I am an old school PCer, and have been making video games since before some of you where born. I'm not the best Artists in the world, but I am an artist and I thought this was an art forum. An art forum that I have called home for many years.

Sorry to disappoint you man, you're forgiven for thinking Polycount was a game art community.

I hear it used to be, now it's just a political discussion board for anything you wanna talk about. As long as it's not art. Lolcats and memes are encouraged.

Man, I've only been here since mid '09 but even I miss the 'good old days'.

Disclaimer: There's still plenty of awesome stuff in P&P, primarily the What are you Working on' thread. Also, I'm more than guilty of posting a topic or two that should never have been posted, and have behaved like an ass on a number of occasions.

The character of the board has changed a lot in the last 5 years. Mostly people in school to become artists or deeply entrenched pros now. Not so many scrappy noobs doing whatever it takes.
