"Aquaman" Lunchtime Study

Hello all

Im here to share with you guys this study that I've made in my lunch time during the month of January.

I was aiming to go further with an old doodle, focusing on high frequency modeling details and texturing. So I was a little lazy with the lowpoly mesh :poly136: .

So here it goes:

I did this chart to show my difuse color pipeline;

Well, I'm not that proud with the result. I personally think that this character lack in charisma and the silhouette is not that great.

But overall at the end I'm happy with the speed of this texturing pipeline, despite that it can be improoved.

    i like everything except for his mouth. the fin-like part of the edge of his mouth seem like they are just a slapped on normal. dunno, it doesnt seem to add too much shape. generally tho i really like how you did the texture, and its neat to see the zbrush layer process. :D

    ty, Onyram. I've tried to make something similar to a fish mouth, but in fact it didn't match so well.

    Nice concept & sculpt.

    There are two things that bother me :
    As someone already pointed, the hard "mustache" (actually the upper lips lol) is strange :poly141:
    Also the "freakles" pass looks blurred or too low res :(

    The fish mouth thing is a good idea, but like they said ^ it wasn't executed well.

    it's just too square/flat/smooth compared to everything else. I think if you sort that out it'll be a great piece. They layers of tex and everything are great and overall pretty cool. (they height of the nostrils bugs me a bit too, but not as bad as lip)
    (in the final render the nostril cavity is so dark, maybe get rid of the black and let us see the skin going in there)
