Yeah, built my system a few weeks ago. It's a Intel 2600K 3.4Ghz, 8Gigs of ram and a 460Gtx 768Mg card in it. And a SSD 64Gb as system drive.
Now i got this super annoying lag when i select something in Maya viewport. It's a bit random but 3/10 times i get a lag when i select anything in the viewport.
Ofc i tried to change drivers to an older on (the oldest for the card) the 258.xx. Still the same lag. Downloaded 2011 trail, and same there.. I got 2010.
And to day at work i ask for a new card in my computer since Mudbox didn't work. As a temporary solution i got an 480 GTX and the lag in Maya isn't there. It's an intel 6600 2.4Ghz 4 gigs of ram and yeah 480..
Both of them are running win7 x64 and both of them have Maya 2010. And both use the latest driver.. Wtf?
What are maya using, openGL? Any solutions?

NVIDIA has a control panel that you can change the 3D settings.
Right click desktop->NVIDIA Control Panel->Manage 3D Settings.
What is maximum pre-rendered frames set to?
Is triple buffering on?
What is vertical sync set to?
I thought about the vertical sync actually. The FPS is almost always 60..
All the settings were at the default.
Maximum prerendered: 3
Triple buffer: Off
Vertical sync: Let the program choose
The strange thing is that, first the program isn't shown in the list. Second, when i add id, all the changes i do just snaps back.
The changes i did where to the global, change the maximum frames to both 8 (max) and zero. Triple buffer kept off. And vertical synd forced off.
And nothing. Is it required a restart?
But some of the lag is still there. So strange..
SOME ONE?
