Senior Artist wanted for full-time, on-site position in Munich, Germany

Profile
  • university degree or proven equivalent experience and skills
  • excellent and versatile artistic skills, both classic and digital
  • 7+ years of professional experience working in the games industry on art and asset-creation with growing complexity
  • successfully delivered several gaming projects across all stages of development (concept, development, launch, experience with operations-stage of online games preferred)
  • expert in 2D- and 3D-software like Photoshop, Blender, zBrush, Modo etc.
  • deep understanding of shaders and material expressions
  • experience with 3D-modeling and animation principles, firm technical skills in rigging and scripting especially regarding organic objects
  • experience and deep understanding of art/animation pipelines
  • able to set up and optimise interdisciplinary workflows
  • experienced working with outsourced content and proven ability to work with outsourcing teams and external partners
  • excellent organisatorial skills and attention to detail
  • firm believer in “leave your ego at the door” aka “crush the joy”
  • highly self-motivated, team-minded, flexible, reliable, loyal, responsible and able to work under pressure

Tasks
  • direct, coordinate and review the work of the project art team and other internal and external content creators to ensure highest asset quality and unity of visual style
  • create concepts, prototypes and examples that allow developers to create game content with minimal revision, providing specific art assets that serve as a quality benchmark for the product
  • provide product aesthetic vision to key stakeholders through the preparation and presentation of appropriate project materials (including milestone updates, work-in-progress presentations and marketing materials)
  • collaborate with other artists, developers and game designers to establish best practices and improve product art pipelines
  • provide original and creative input, inspiring the art team and making a significant contribution to the overall quality of the product
  • act as a role-model for artists by emphasizing project and company goals, provide aesthetic feedback on performance and mentor and train artists in aesthetic and production skills
