I was under impressed when I watched the actual video first. I was looking at it thinking: "This doesn't look like mental ray, but the lighting is quite good. Nice particle effects. Something about the texture mapping on the mezzanine looks off. The exposure makes me think it might be in UDK with lightmass.. but how are they doing the overall time of day change? Dynamic light environment switching? Nice work on the timelapse tree shaking effect though, even if its super noisy."
Then I loaded up the making of one and realized it was actual timelapse photography and became much more impressed.
