1939 BMW R12 WIP

This is my latest prohect t hat I'm doing for a modeling class. We have to create a high poly hard surface model. I chose this lovely bike:

and here's some shots of the model:

Polycount is about 33000 right now.

Polycount doesn't seem to be important at that res. When you get that high I don't think people care too much, unless it's just excessively high and you're doing it for something other than a class/render.

Where are the wire frame views? How do you plan on detailing the tire?

    Nice Gouf, btw.

Its for a class, and the professor wanted a high res render(4000 x 2250 pixels) >.< which is why its so painfully high. The last week or so has been very hectic, but I plan on getting some wire frame renders up this week, as well as a final render.

For the tire I'm ended up doing the treds with a bump map on top of a blinn.

    Thanks!

looks like a good project to work on. lots detail to work with which would make a great portfolio piece. your high poly count is that big of deal right now tho. its probably just high from smoothing it. just worry about modeling the details and the polycount will go up as time passes.
ya thats a big render, lol

Thanks! I actually tried not to smooth the geometry that much. I did give myself more geometry to work with then I needed, so that probably added to it as well.
