[MAX] Align vertex to plane or curve

Hi,
I have a question about aligning vertexes to a plane or line/curve. I'm selecting few verts and I want to align them to line, curve or plane on X, Y or Z axis. Is that possible?

If you are working in editable poly, you can select the vertices, look in the command panel under Edit Geometry, and use the Make Planar buttons to align it to the X, Y, or Z axis.

Yes yes, I know that. I'm looking for aligning verts to line or curve that is not parallel to X, Y or Z.

OK, I found out how to move all verts to line. Create a new grid (on the line I want to snap verts to), activate it and "Align to grid". Still don't know how to move it to curved line or specilic face...

ahh damn I lost track of it but there was a thread a while back about aligning verts along a curved surface I think You can't do it in max by itself.

Also I remember a script on scriptspot that would align verts, I think IllusionCatalyst also has something like that...

I don't have time to search but if you hunt around in those places you might discover something.

Is it possible in your project for you to move the verts beyond the curve, then cut through the faces that lead to them along the curve, delete those faces now hanging off, and end up using those new verts aligned already?

That's a good idea. I'll copy the shape, boolean it and leave only verts that I need. Thanks!

I don't understand exactly what you mean but have a look at the Curve or Straight tool in Graphite - Loop Tools ...and also this thread:
