Firstly hello, I'm new here and I hope that I can integrate into the community as I become more skilled in 3DS Max but for now I need your help if that's okay

My problem is this: When I am trying to weigh the Jaw Vertices to the Jaw Bone, the vertices on the Jaw are jumping forward instead of staying in place.
This first image shows the vertices before they have been weighted to the Jaw Bone, they are currently weighted 100% to the ribcage.

And now here is what it looks like once I have weighted all of the vertices to the Jaw bone (bone011). As you can see all of the vertices have jumped forward.

I appreciate any help,
Thank you!

under the "Advanced Parameters" tab in the "Skin" modifier I unchecked "Always Deform" and it worked fine, although I heard it was best to recheck that box once you've done weighting those specific vertices.
